Totton Heffelfinger

Totton Heffelfinger is a student in Georgetown University’s Government Honors Program, where he focuses on criminal justice, constitutional law, and public policy. He currently serves as a legal intern with Making an Exoneree and previously participated in the program as a student investigator. In that role, he reviewed thousands of pages of trial records, conducted extensive case research, and helped produce a documentary examining innocence claims related to Scott Jones’s decade-old wrongful murder conviction in Alabama.

Outside of his work with Making an Exoneree, Totton has interned for The Honorable Laurel Beeler of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and for Senator Amy Klobuchar in both her Washington, D.C., and Minnesota offices. At Georgetown, he serves as a Co-President of the university’s ACLU chapter and the President of the Financial Law Association.
